Beertenders

Like a bartender, but you know… with only beer. This job requires someone who is able to juggle multiple customers at once. You need to be a people person, a problem solver who likes to listen and help educate our guests about craft beer. A good knowledge base of craft beer, its history and ingredients is important. Can you tell the difference between an American Wheat Beer and a German Hefeweizen, the differences in Lager and Ale yeast or what crystal malt is? If not that’s OK! Assistant Brewer/ Cellarperson

Our beer is important to us. Like… really important. We need someone who thinks its as important as we do and wants to help make it. The Assitant Brewer/Cellarperson (ABC) works directly under the master brewer and is responsible for making sure things run smoothly in the brewery. This means the ABC wears a lot of hats. First and foremost is keeping things clean. Its a humid and dirty job where you will sometimes work in hot and wet conditions, lifting bags of grain weighing 55 lbs shoulder height and maneuvering full kegs weighing up to 170 lbs, but rewarding when you get to sample the beer you helped make. Weekly tasks include recording measurements of the fermenting beer, washing kegs, and of course following set recipes to make beer. Previous brewery experience is a plus but so is any manufacturing, mechanical or professional high-end kitchen experience. Must be diligent in following recipes and ensuring every job is done right all the time.
